On the way you will stop at the scenic Fanja village and from there go on to Wadi bani Khalid. There you can swim and hike and buy local refreshments. Afterwrds you will continue on to the great golden dunes of Wahiba Sand desert. You will be able to rest and relax at the desert camp, enjoy a beautiful sunset and be served a local dinner under the stars. Stay the night at Sama Alwasil Desert Camp Dinner will be served for you in the camp. Day 2: Short overview: Desert/Nizwa/ Birkat Al Mouz/ Muscat Details: You have the option of watching the sun rise before enjoying the breakfast and then you can go for a camel ride or rent a quad bike. Then you will head directly to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman characterized by it’s unique architecture, popular market, old defensive fort and castle. Enjoy shopping different food products especially the local dates. Then you will walk to Nizwa Fort (built in middle of the 17th century AD by Imam Sultan bin Saif Yarub) and the castle (built in 9th century AD by Imam Assalt bin Malik Alkharousi). Next, you visit an ancient 2000 year old water canal which is still used for farm irrigation and the old village of Birkat Al Mouz. From there you will go back to Muscat.
